Dear Linda Bozza,
Thank you for all that you taught me. I use Mail Merge and Excel almost every day. I could not have done this job without the knowledge I gained in your class. I love my job!
Sincerely,

“My experience with Sutter County One-Stop started soon after I was among a local radio station lay-off. I then went through an interview with a local promotion/media company and was qualified for the job, except I lacked the computer skills for them to hire me.
I started the ROP Business Class, Office Technology about two weeks after the interview. I have been amazed at the organization, discipline, and professionalism of the staff here at One Stop. From my instructor Betty Mack (it’s worn her out trying to teach me) to Linda and Anita next door it has been a real treat to go back to school, so to speak, and learn about the computer world. All of the other students in class have been a joy to get to know and they’re also learning many useful life-long skills.
Steve, Ernie, and Tamara have also been a huge help in the counseling/specialist end of the operation.
I will be going to work for that same promotion/media firm that initially said I lacked the computer skills necessary. Thank You So Much!!!!!”

“I was searching for a way to improve my computer skills and obtain some training in the Microsoft Office programs. My boyfriend told me about the ROP Business Careers courses offered here at the One Stop. I attended an information meeting, and I knew I had found what I was looking for. I started with typing and the Microsoft Office Suite. I am currently working on Microsoft Word and Publisher. I have improved my math and English skills and I completed a Data Entry course. I also participated in a Telephone Etiquette class, which I recommend to anyone who wants to learn how to properly use the phone in a business office. My goal is to become certified in Microsoft Office Suite.
I really enjoy attending classes here. I especially enjoy being able to work at my own pace. The instructors here are great. They really want you to succeed and are willing to help you in any way they can. I am really grateful for the opportunity to be able to attend classes here at the Sutter County One-Stop. I would especially like to thank Linda, Anita and Betty for all their help and support.”

“I am so thankful for the educational opportunities available here at the Sutter County One-Stop. Everyone who works here seems to be interested in your success, whether it is to learn a new skill for personal reasons, or to find a job. Workshops of all types are available to help you with your goals, like resume writing, how to work a job fair, and even interviewing skills.
After being a stay at home mom for 20+ years, I am now gaining new computer application skills, such as Word, Access and Excel. I’ve taken the Office Technology course, and am currently enrolled in Accounting. My teacher, Betty Mack, is professional and always there to help me in anyway she can. Thanks to Sutter County One-Stop, I feel I am gaining the necessary skills needed to find employment in today’s tough job market.”

“I have been working a seasonal job for the last few years. Early on I realized that I needed to have something to show on my resume and job applications to account for my off time. I needed something both productive and beneficial. Yuba College’s calendar does not conform well to my working season. There are online classes available from Yuba College, but I am the type of person who needs to go somewhere and attend class. The cost for books and registration fees can be burdensome as well.
My neighbor mentioned to me that Sutter County One Stop has a school. My neighbor said I would have to buy my own books. After attending an information meeting I found out that there are programs that can help with the cost of books. Another big benefit that I found is that many of the courses are articulated with Yuba College and college credits are available for those courses. This is just what I needed for my situation.
Since attending Sutter County One Stop, I have met many new friends among both staff and fellow students. I do not think that I can say enough about the staff at Sutter County One Stop. These folks are not only dedicated to teaching different skills to the students; they have true compassion for the people attending classes. They work their hardest to see to it that everyone who walks in through the door is a success when they walk out the door. They do this with a smile on their faces all day long, every day. Thanks SCOS.”

“I came to the Sutter County One Stop after the closing of Mervyn’s in Marysville. When Mervyn’s was going out of business, in December 2008, members of the staff, from the Sutter County One Stop came to the store to let us know what our options were and what programs were available to us. I registered for the Microsoft Office Computer Applications class in February 2009. Starting with Microsoft Office Suite, I obtained Microsoft Certification in Word 2007 and am pursuing Access, Excel, and Accounting certificates. With these awesome skills, and renewed confidence, from the One Stop, I hope to get a job as an office professional. I can’t thank Linda, Betty, and Anita enough for the help and encouragement they have given me these last few months. Thank you also to Aracelli, my WIA counselor, for all her help too.”

"I was laid off last year, with no immediate prospects of other employment. To make matters even worse, my computer skills were not very good – not even good enough to get another job. I came to Sutter County One Stop for help. They helped me with my benefits, and got me started in school right away. I am now learning Accounting, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and more. With these skills, my future looks a lot brighter.
I can’t thank the folks at Sutter County One Stop enough. Everyone has been pleasant, very professional, and goes out of their way to help. The teachers are very qualified to teach their subjects, and they work with the students to make sure we understand the material and can pass the courses. Honestly, I’m not sure what I would have done without our Sutter County One Stop."
