Testimonials:
Karen Stewart

IMAGE“The Lord knew he was going to take my husband and I would be left with no education, no self confidence, no money, alone with my faith. During a two month stay at Rideout with my husband, several nurses even a doctor told me I should go into nursing. The Lord opened the door and lit the path to One Stop! Geneva held my hand through enrollment, helped me get books I couldn’t afford, and then I started my journey and with Celia as an instructor who really loves what she does all I could do is learn from her! I give thanks to God for One Stop, the staff, teachers and students. I don’t have my best friend, my husband and I miss him, but I do have an education and self confidence to provide for my home doing what I love. Thanks 1 Stop.”

IMAGE"The One Stop has provided me with the opportunity to excel in the field of Medical Assisting. In just five short months I finished the program and began my externship in a Pediatric office. Almost immediately after starting my externship I was hired on as a full time employee. Thanks to the training and support I received from the Health Career Instructors, I now have a rewarding career as a Medical Assistant."

Thank you.

IMAGE"I came to Yuba-Sutter One Stop because of many recommendations from family and friends, and after looking at more than 5 other schools I decided to enroll. I love being here with all the wonderful instructors, staff, and students. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I drive here from Oroville and it’s more than worth it! I completed the Medical Assistant course and the Certified Nursing Assistant course and will hopefully get in to the LVN course and continue with this wonderful school."

IMAGE“I have always been interested in Medical Assisting as a career however, I was unsure of where I could do a Medical Assisting Program. I became frustrated after working toward the pre requisites for the Registered Nursing program. It would take at least a few more years since many programs have a 2- 3 year wait list. Wanting a way to break into the health career field, I called Sutter County One Stop to see what they offered. It was exciting to hear about the Medical Assisting Program as another option. I took the assessment tests and got into the next available class. My training has been very educational and to be honest, a lot of fun. The staff is all so nurturing and understanding, they really are here to help anyway they can.  While I’m sad to have my training come to an end, I’m very happy to say that during my externship I was hired and have finally begun a career in the medical field.”

IMAGE“I am so grateful that Sutter County One Stop offered this program. It was invaluable to me. A clinical RN refresher program is very hard to find, yet current employers require it of nurses who have not practiced for several years. So this program was critical to my future success.

The grant provided by the WIA program is a huge benefit. We are in this program because we need a job. This program gives me the skills and confidence to go forward and re-enter the workforce as an RN.”

IMAGE“Sutter County One Stop is wonderful,

I have taken the Basic Patient Care (CNA) class with Celia Dilley, Medical Terminology with Elda Lantz, and I am currently attending the Medical Office Services (MA) class with Geneva Vargas. Every instructor has helped me get the education I need to be successful. The CNA class was nice, my favorite part was the clinical. I got so attached to the residents, and Celia was so caring. Elda’s Medical Terminology class taught me a lot. It was challenging but fun. The MA class is so exciting, I love Geneva and Karen they are so fun to be around. I would recommend Sutter County One Stop to anyone who wants to receive a good education with fun instructors.”

IMAGE"I was really scared when 3 years ago I made a “big” move in my life. I moved from my motherland “Uganda”, with my family and decided to change my career. I was doing accounting and decided I would like to go into a nursing career. Sutter County One Stop has been in my life for those three years. They have helped smooth my way to success, as if nothing has changed.

All the people I have come across are very nice and they are more than ready to help.  Lisa at the front office, with all the other staff there are awesome. Whenever I go to that office I feel at home. Maria in Job Central (plus others) does all she can to make everyone achieve their goal in life to the extent of giving me a ride back home, in my first days.

Celia Dilley, my CNA instructor was more than an instructor, she felt like a mother. She goes an extra mile and out of her way to help. Pam, my LVN instructor and all the instructors are great.  WIA has helped me to buy all my books, scrubs, and all the necessary requirements to help me succeed in life. They never think about themselves the client is their ultimate focus.

I would like to thank my friend Angeline who took me to One Stop. My WIA counselor, Bobby Chima and all the people I have come across thru this One Stop center. They have contributed much to my life. Try it you will never regret it. It is really a One Stop in life that will make a change in your life, like it did in mine.

Thank you Sutter County One Stop, You are all Team Players!"

Success Story:
Liliana Perez

IMAGELiliana Perez came to Sutter County One Stop in November 2009 to take the Basic Patient Care (CNA) class.  She was a good student and did very well in the clinical portion of the course. She liked working with the elderly and has found a job as a CNA at the very place where we had the clinical experience – The Fountains. Congratulations and good luck Lilly!

Amanda Vega

Amanda Vega began attending my Medical Office Services’ class in October 2008. She was an excellent student and had very good attendance. Amanda was hired by the Medical Office where she completed her externship. I frequently see Amanda at her place of employment and just recently I asked her if she was still enjoying her work, with a big smile she said “absolutely” and then told me, “Thank you!”

Heather has been a very good student. She has always stayed on task and worked well with other students. She was hired at the facility where she had done her externship. I am sure Heather will do very well in her new career.
