Sutter County One Stop’s Adult Education Program provides Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes to improve reading or math skills; offer classes to prepare to take the General Educational Development (GED) test or complete an adult high school diploma. In addition, classes are also offered in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Introduction to Computers.
ESL classes are designed for those whose native language is not English. Classes start at beginning level for those who neither read nor write English and progress to the final level before entry into regular Adult Education English classes. The ESL programs emphasize practical English for daily life and employment situations.
The Computer Application class is designed for individuals desiring to learn basic computer skills for the job market, those wishing to upgrade their computer skills or for those who have a computer and don’t know how to use it. It is also the only class for the adult high school diploma student who needs to earn the required credits for their diploma.
