Applications & Professional Letters

Give yourself the best chance to get a job by making a great first impression. Participants will learn the necessary requirements needed to complete the application process. We will be covering the following: 

  • How to complete a job application
  • Review supplemental questions on a job application
  • What to include in a cover letter/statement of qualifications, recommendation letter, list of references, thank you letter and job search portfolio

Please remember to have all applicable information with you, which includes:

  • Gmail Account
  • Driver’s license and social security number
  • Bring job posting of a position you may/will be applying for
  • Employment and volunteer history
  • Education history / Certifications
  • Skills Assessments (Optional)
  • Personality Test (Optional)

Effective Interviewing

Struggling with interviewing? Learn the process you'll move through as you accept a job interview: Prepare for those critical first 3-5 minutes of an interview (when many recruiters say an interview is either won or lost), discussion of advanced interview formats (group, panel, speed, etc.), research the company, formulate answers to interview questions, how to dress, prepare for the all-important "tell me about yourself" question and how to develop an introduction speech for an employer.

2020 Cenus Information Event

Learn about all of the excitng opportunities the United States Census 2020 has to offer. Supervisory and Non-Supervisory positons are available in Sutter County. Apply prior to the information event. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid social security number and be a United States citizen.

Complete Online Applications without Frustration

Most retail and food service companies have placed their applications online. In addition to the basic application information such as your work history, education, etc…, the online applications usually includes a personality assessment. The personality questions help the employer weed out potential candidates before they even get a chance to interview! This workshop will teach you how to identify the values and belief’s prospective companies are looking for in applicants.
