Looking for a Career with a Bright Future?
If you have been laid-off due to a business closure, company downsizing, business relocation, etc., you are eligible for re-training services through the Sutter County One Stop. In addition, if you have been separated and/or divorced from your spouse and were dependent upon their income and are no longer being supported by that, you may be eligible for services as a displaced homemaker. Since we are a federally funded agency, we have grant funding available to assist with vocational training and/or job search assistance. Some of the trainings that we sponsor include: the two year certificate programs at Yuba College, healthcare and business classes through the Tri-County ROP (Regional Occupational Program), private trade schools/institutions. The WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Program can assist with the cost of books, uniforms, supplies, testing fees, possibly mileage reimbursement and/or childcare if you are deemed eligible as a dislocated worker. If you are attending a private trade school from our approved training school list, we may be able to assist with full/partial tuition costs. To see if you qualify for retraining services and/or other free services, please come by Job Central in Room C7 to speak to a WIA representative or call 530-822-5120 ext. 3068. |
