The Sutter County One Stop offers services to individuals who have been formally incarcerated to help them gather the necessary information and resources to assist with reentering the workforce. Do you have a less than perfect background? Have you made choices in the past that do not define who you are today? Our offices offer a job skills/job search workshop tailored to the barriers of the formally incarcerated to show individuals how to overcome the obstacles to employment, establish workplace ethics, offer tips and techniques to showcase your skills and talents, and how to properly explain the difficult to answer questions.
The staff at the Sutter County One Stop knows the importance of providing the necessary job seeking tools to our community. Our goal is that by offering such resources to the residents of our community, we can help in reducing prisoner recidivism, improve our job ready workforce, and build on the talents of our community.  Sutter County Second Chance Program
The Sutter County One Stop, in partnership with the Sutter County Sheriff Department and other local community agencies, are working together to help reduce recidivism at the local level jail system; residents of the community that will soon be released from custody. This service has been named the Sutter County Second Chance Program.
The Second Chance Committee meets regularly to discuss ways to improve reentry by developing strategies to prepare inmates to transition from jail to the community. The mission of this partnership is to provide inmates the opportunity for a second chance to make better life decisions. Resources and services are discussed, ideas for successful transition are shared and individual plans are initiated. The process of how to best re-enter inmates back into the community is still evolving. A Toolkit has been created to help determine an individuals need prior to their scheduled released date in preparation for their return to the community; supplying them with the proper tools to make better life decisions. |
