Sutter One Stop

Veterans, transitioning service members and eligible spouses of Veterans can receive a variety of services and useful resources at the Sutter County One Stop. Veterans receive priority of services* in job and training referrals and other employment related services. Veterans are able to attend workshops, receive help developing a resume, job search assistance and receive information about training programs.

Veterans can also take advantage of the special Veteran’s Grant available to assist veterans with their training or retraining needs. This grant is in addition to other VA education benefit programs (i.e. the Post 9/11, GI Bill, and Montgomery GI Bill). Visit the Sutter County One Stop to learn more about how this grant can assist you in upgrading your existing skills or in starting a new career. The goal is to address the need for veterans to transition into high-wage, high-growth occupations using their skills set obtained in the military. The program will assist the veteran with the completion of a training activity, job attainment and retention. Contact our On Stop to learn more about how we can assist you with the following:  vocational training (financial assistance with tuition and certification fees, books, supplies and uniforms.), job search assistance, career assessment and planning, resume development and updates and on-the-job training.

We can provide referrals to an EDD Veteran Program Representative. They can provide resume assistance, job search assistance, Veteran resources and one-on-one services for eligible veterans. In addition, we can provide referrals to the Yuba-Sutter Counties Veteran’s Affairs office for assistance with benefits planning.

*Priority of services means Veterans, transitioning service members and eligible spouses of Veterans are able to receive access to that program or service earlier in time or instead of persons who are not eligible for priority of services.
